Choosing your own subject, media and style you will create paintings from your own reference photograph. The tutor will be able to assist in all aspects of your work to help achieve your individual goals in what ever direction you wish to take things. This is a relaxed and friendly environment and suitable for any level of knowledge, from complete beginner to experienced.

Great for a complete beginner or experienced, this class will show you what you need to know to get the most out of your painting. Using black and white paint only we will learn to use the paint boldly with control and consistency, developing greater confidence and understanding of painting techniques and media. Really bust out and discover what you can achieve with paint, you won't look back!

  • Black & white acrylic paint (minimum size 75ml tube)

  • Palette - something flat and non absorbent (something like an old plate will work)

One A2 card to paint onto will be included in course cost. Brushes, etc will be provided for your use.

Ink is a fantastic drawing media and extremely versatile in how it can be used, from very fine work to broad and expressive, its possibilities are endless! This class will demonstrate a range of ways to work using ink and also how we can combine it with other media, such as paint, watercolour or pencil to create a huge range of effects and techniques that will really open up new creative ideas and skills. This workshop is all about learning techniques that will get you creating boldly with charcoal and pastel! We’ll start by exploring ways we can use black charcoal/pastel on its own and then introduce white pastel to the mix to discover how to build up your image in through layering and mixing these two together.  Finally we’ll bring some colour to into it to widen the scope even further to what you can achieve. It’ll be a great day of exploring, experimenting and learning how to get the most from these wonderful media with fearlessness and daring!

- rubber eraser

 Also colour pastels if you wish to use them (colour is optional).

This class will really broaden your ability to conceive diversely about your drawing and open up many more possibilities to work with, giving you the chance to develop diverse and creative drawing ideas, exploring a variety of drawing media and developing technical drawing skills.
